Coated Vicryl Absorbable Suture, Violet Braided, S-14 Needle, Size 6/0, 18" is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable suture composed of Polyglactin 910, designed for general soft tissue approximation and ligation. It is especially suitable for ophthalmic, reproductive tract, and subcutaneous procedures, while specifically not intended for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues. 

The violet coloration ensures easy intraoperative visibility. The S-14 needle is a small, precision-cutting needle optimized for delicate and controlled penetration, particularly useful in ophthalmic and microsurgical fields. The reverse cutting design allows efficient tissue penetration with reduced trauma, contributing to optimal healing conditions in fine, vascularized tissues.

This suture maintains approximately 50% of its original tensile strength at the third week post-implantation. Its predictable hydrolytic degradation ensures that complete mass absorption occurs between 56 and 76 days. The degradation process leaves minimal residual tissue reaction, minimizing complications and promoting healing.
