Violet Coated Vicryl 3-0 CT-1 36" Suture is a synthetic, absorbable braided suture composed of polyglactin 910. The suture is coated to facilitate smooth passage through tissue and minimize tissue drag. Its violet color improves visibility in the surgical field, aiding accurate placement and handling. This sterile suture is designed for use in general soft tissue approximation and ligation.

The suture is indicated for a broad range of surgical applications, including general tissue and muscle approximation, ligatures, reproductive tract procedures, and ophthalmic surgeries. It is not recommended for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues due to specific tissue healing requirements. 

Violet Coated Vicryl maintains approximately 50% of its tensile strength at three weeks post-implantation, providing reliable wound support during the critical initial healing phase. The suture undergoes complete absorption between 56 and 76 days, allowing gradual loss of foreign material as the tissue regains strength.
