Description

Coated VICRYL™ Plus Antibacterial Suture, Size 3-0, 27", Undyed Braided, is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of Polyglactin 910 and coated with triclosan, an antibacterial agent. The braided construction provides excellent handling, flexibility, and secure knot tying.

The antibacterial coating has been demonstrated in vitro to inhibit bacterial colonization on the suture surface. It is effective against common surgical site infection pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE).

A reverse cutting needle is used for effective penetration through tough or fibrous tissue. The 3/8 circle configuration provides controlled, precise placement. This suture is suitable for general soft tissue approximation, including subcuticular and dermal closure applications requiring antibacterial protection.
