Description

The PDS™ Plus Antibacterial Violet Monofilament Suture, Size 5-0, 27", RB-1 Needle, is a sterile, absorbable synthetic suture composed of polydioxanone and coated with triclosan, an antibacterial agent. The antibacterial coating reduces the risk of surgical site infections by inhibiting colonization of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis on the suture surface.

The RB-1 taper point needle allows smooth passage through delicate tissues with minimal trauma. Its curved, 1/2 circle shape and stainless steel construction offer precision and stability during placement in subcutaneous, gastrointestinal, urologic, and gynecologic surgeries.

This suture is frequently used in high-risk or infection-prone surgical sites where extended tensile strength and antibacterial protection are desired. The violet coloration enhances intraoperative visibility, while the monofilament structure ensures smooth handling, reduced tissue drag, and minimal inflammatory response during wound healing.
