The PDS II Clear Monofilament Suture, Size 4/0, 18", with P-2 Needle, is a synthetic absorbable suture designed for soft tissue approximation and ligation. It features a reverse cutting needle that enhances the ability to pass through tough tissue while minimizing tissue trauma. The smooth passage through tissue ensures ease of use, reducing the chance of damaging delicate structures during surgery.

This suture is made from polydioxanone, which provides extended strength retention, ensuring the suture maintains its holding power over a prolonged period. The strength retention is 80% at 2 weeks, 70% at 4 weeks, and 60% at 6 weeks, offering optimal support during the critical healing period. This controlled absorption process reduces the need for suture removal.

With a complete mass absorption occurring between 183 and 238 days, the PDS II suture is ideal for situations where long-term tissue support is required, such as in internal surgeries.
