Undyed ETHICON™ MONOCRYL™ Monofilament Absorbable Suture, 18", Size 4-0, with PS-1 needle is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of poliglecaprone 25. It is manufactured as a monofilament to provide minimal tissue drag, excellent pliability, and secure knot strength. The undyed format is suitable for applications where low suture visibility is desired, such as in cosmetic or pediatric procedures.

The suture induces a low level of tissue reactivity, offering a cleaner healing environment compared to chromic gut. Its monofilament structure resists fraying and capillarity, reducing the potential for bacterial migration. The smooth surface allows for easy passage through tissue with reduced trauma, ensuring consistent handling throughout the procedure.

Common surgical applications include gastrointestinal closure, bladder repair, subcuticular skin closures, and fascia or linea alba suturing in young, healthy, and fast-healing patients. The PS-1 needle is a 3/8 circle reverse cutting type, designed for precision in soft but tough tissues such as dermal and subdermal layers.
