Description
The I.V. Dressing with CHG Biopatch® is a sterile medical dressing designed with a Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) 1-inch disk featuring a 4.0mm center hole. It is specifically tailored for patients requiring vascular or non-vascular percutaneous medical devices, from IV catheters to chest tubes and orthopedic pins.
This dressing serves as a hydrophilic wound covering intended to absorb exudate and protect wounds caused by the insertion of various medical devices. Its primary function is to mitigate the risk of local infections, catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSI), and skin colonization by microorganisms commonly associated with CRBSI.
Biopatch®, containing Chlorhexidine Gluconate, is incorporated into the dressing to provide antimicrobial properties, aiding in reducing infection risks. The gray coloration of the dressing assists in easily identifying and monitoring the wound site.
