Description
Omnipaque VL 240 mg/mL, 10 mL, is a contrast agent used in diagnostic imaging procedures, specifically for enhancing the visibility of blood vessels and tissues during X-ray and computed tomography (CT) scans. It contains iodinated contrast medium, which absorbs X-rays and appears white on the radiographic image, allowing for clearer visualization of internal structures.
The product is supplied in a 10 mL vial, and care must be taken to protect it from strong daylight and direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to light can degrade the contrast medium, compromising its effectiveness. Omnipaque should be stored at a controlled room temperature of 20 to 25 degrees Celsius (68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit) to maintain its stability and integrity.
For ease of use, Omnipaque may be stored in a contrast media warmer for up to one month at a temperature of 37 degrees Celsius (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit) to ensure optimal viscosity for injection. Proper storage and handling are essential to ensure the quality of the contrast agent.
