Description

Naloxone 4 mg Nasal Spray 2x0.1 mL is an opioid antagonist used for the emergency treatment of opioid overdose. It comes in a package containing two individual nasal spray devices, each delivering 0.1 mL of naloxone hydrochloride solution. The strength of each spray is 4 mg of naloxone, formulated for rapid administration and quick onset of action.

Naloxone works by competitively binding to opioid receptors in the brain, specifically the mu-opioid receptor, and displacing opioids such as heroin or prescription painkillers. This action reverses the depressive effects of opioids on the respiratory and central nervous systems, allowing the patient to regain consciousness and resume normal breathing.

This nasal spray is intended for intranasal use only and is administered directly into one of the patient’s nostrils. It is a single-use device, and a second dose may be required if the patient does not respond or if opioid effects persist. Common side effects include withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or agitation.
