Lidocaine 1% Sdv with preservatives 2mL is a local anesthetic solution used primarily for infiltration and nerve block anesthesia. The active ingredient, lidocaine hydrochloride, works by inhibiting sodium ion influx through nerve cell membranes, thus stabilizing the cell membrane and preventing the transmission of nerve impulses.

The 1% concentration offers a moderate duration of action, making it suitable for procedures where short- to medium-term anesthesia is required. Lidocaine is commonly used for local infiltration anesthesia, such as for dental procedures, minor skin surgeries, or other localized tissue interventions. This formulation is not suitable for epidural or caudal anesthesia, as higher concentrations or different anesthetic agents are generally recommended for such uses due to safety concerns.
