Description
Gadobutrol Injection, 1 mmol/mL, 7.5 mL, is a gadolinium-based contrast agent used for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures. It is specifically designed to improve the visibility of blood vessels, tissues, and organs during MRI scans, enhancing diagnostic accuracy. The solution is administered intravenously and is effective for evaluating various conditions, including vascular, neurological, and musculoskeletal disorders.
Gadobutrol works by altering the magnetic properties of tissues during MRI, enabling enhanced image contrast. As a macrocyclic, stable contrast agent, it binds gadolinium ions in a way that reduces toxicity, minimizing the risk of nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) in patients with renal impairment. The 1 mmol/mL concentration provides high signal intensity for detailed imaging with a single dose.
Each vial contains 7.5 mL of the gadolinium-based solution, and the product is available in a package of 20 single-dose vials. This packaging ensures that the product is available for multiple procedures while maintaining sterility and preventing contamination. It is essential to administer the contrast under controlled conditions, with appropriate monitoring for adverse reactions.
