Banophen Diphenhydramine HCl Allergy Capsules, 50 mg, are an antihistamine used to relieve allergic reactions, hay fever, and cold symptoms. The active ingredient, Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride, is a first-generation H1 receptor antagonist that blocks histamine release from mast cells. This action reduces symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and itching associated with allergic reactions.

Diphenhydramine crosses the blood-brain barrier, exerting sedative effects by inhibiting histamine activity in the central nervous system. It is frequently used as a sleep aid due to its ability to induce drowsiness and relaxation. The sedative effect also makes it useful in treating motion sickness and nausea by affecting the vestibular system.

Each Banophen capsule contains 50 mg of Diphenhydramine HCl, formulated for oral administration. The recommended adult dosage is one capsule every 4 to 6 hours, not exceeding six doses in 24 hours. The product is packaged in a bottle containing 100 capsules for extended use. It is not recommended for children under 6 years without medical advice.
