Description

Chorionic Gonadotropin—hCG 10,000 IU is a medication primarily used for inducing ovulation in women and treating male infertility. It contains human chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone that stimulates the gonads by mimicking luteinizing hormone (LH). In females, it triggers the final maturation of ovarian follicles and initiates ovulation, while in males, it stimulates testosterone production from the testes to support sperm production and address hypogonadism.

Each vial contains 10,000 IU of hCG as the active ingredient, along with excipients such as sodium chloride and mannitol for stabilization. The powder is reconstituted with sterile water before administration. The injection can be administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously, depending on the prescribed treatment regimen. 

Common side effects include headache, abdominal discomfort, fatigue, mood swings, and local injection site reactions. In females, the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) may occur, with symptoms such as bloating and fluid retention. Serious side effects are rare but may include multiple pregnancies or allergic reactions.
