Description
Bupivacaine Mdv is a pharmaceutical formulation consisting of 0.5% (5 mg/ml) bupivacaine hydrochloride solution in a 50 ml multi-dose vial (MDV). It is intended for local infiltration, peripheral nerve block, and retrobulbar block anesthesia. This formulation is not indicated for use in caudal, epidural, or spinal anesthesia procedures.

It works by reversibly blocking the propagation of nerve impulses, thereby inducing a temporary loss of sensation in the targeted area. The .5% concentration implies a moderate potency suitable for various local anesthesia applications. As a multi-dose vial, it allows for repeated withdrawals of the solution for administration across multiple patients or procedures, provided proper aseptic techniques are maintained to prevent contamination.
Usage of this product should adhere strictly to medical guidelines and under the supervision of healthcare professionals experienced in the administration of local anesthetics. Adverse effects may include systemic toxicity, hypersensitivity reactions, and local tissue reactions at the injection site. Patients should be monitored closely during and after administration for any signs of adverse reactions.
