Description
Zepbound (Tirzepatide) 7.5 mg/0.5 mL is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist used for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight conditions accompanied by weight-related comorbidities. It regulates appetite, delays gastric emptying, and enhances insulin sensitivity, leading to reduced caloric intake and improved metabolic control.
Each prefilled syringe contains 7.5 mg of tirzepatide in 0.5 mL of solution for subcutaneous administration. The recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg once weekly for four weeks, after which the dose is typically increased to 5 mg per week. The injection is administered in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm at any time of the day, with or without food.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort. More serious but less frequent adverse reactions include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and increased heart rate. Regular monitoring of metabolic parameters, gastrointestinal tolerance, and overall treatment response is recommended.
