Each prefilled injection pen delivers 0.5 mg of semaglutide in a single dose for subcutaneous administration. The recommended starting dose is 0.25 mg once weekly for four weeks to allow the body to adjust to the medication. After the initial period, the dosage is gradually increased based on patient tolerance and treatment goals, with a maximum maintenance dose of 2.4 mg weekly.
