It is specifically suitable for ophthalmic procedures but is contraindicated for cardiovascular and neurological tissue use. The suture’s coated braided construction enhances handling and knot security.

This suture demonstrates ease of knot tying, with reliable knot security achieved on the first throw. The coating reduces tissue drag, facilitating smoother passage through tissue and minimizing trauma. Its braided structure provides excellent pliability and strength necessary for effective wound closure.

The suture maintains approximately 50% of its tensile strength at three weeks post-implantation. This strength retention supports tissue during the critical early healing phase. Complete mass absorption occurs between 56 and 76 days, allowing gradual suture degradation with minimal inflammatory response.
