Description

Jevtana W/Dil 60 mg SDV 1.5 mL contains cabazitaxel, a chemotherapy agent classified as a taxane. Cabazitaxel works by inhibiting microtubule depolymerization, disrupting mitosis and leading to cell death. It binds to tubulin, stabilizing microtubules and preventing their disassembly, which halts cell division and induces apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. 

Jevtana is indicated for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) in patients previously treated with docetaxel-based chemotherapy. It is used when the disease has progressed despite prior treatments, providing an alternative therapeutic option. 

Common side effects of Jevtana include neutropenia, anemia, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Serious adverse effects can include febrile neutropenia and renal dysfunction. Jevtana should be stored refrigerated between 2°C and 8°C, protected from light, and must be used within a specified time frame after preparation.
