Cyanocobalamin B12 Injection 1000 mcg/mL (10 mL) is a sterile solution containing cyanocobalamin, a synthetic form of vitamin B12. This essential vitamin plays a crucial role in red blood cell formation, neurological function, and DNA synthesis. The injection is typically prescribed for individuals with vitamin B12 deficiency caused by pernicious anemia, malabsorption syndromes, or dietary insufficiencies.

The mechanism of action involves conversion into active coenzymes, methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, which are vital for cellular metabolism. Cyanocobalamin supports the synthesis of methionine from homocysteine. It also promotes erythropoiesis by aiding in nucleic acid synthesis, ensuring proper red blood cell development.
