Description

Ceftriaxone 1 g SDV (Single-Dose Vial) is a broad-spectrum, third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic intended for parenteral administration. It exhibits bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins. Its extended half-life allows for once-daily dosing in most cases, improving therapeutic compliance in clinical settings.

This formulation provides 1 gram of ceftriaxone sodium per vial, reconstituted with appropriate diluents for intravenous or intramuscular injection. It demonstrates stability when properly stored and handled, with compatibility across various diluents including sterile water, 0.9% sodium chloride, and dextrose solutions.

Ceftriaxone is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms, including lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, bone and joint infections, meningitis, septicemia, and gonorrhea. It is also used perioperatively to reduce the incidence of postoperative infections in surgical patients.
