Description

Calmoseptine is a topical ointment that is supplied in a 3.5 g tube. The formulation contains Menthol (0.44%) and Zinc Oxide (20.625%) as the active ingredients. The inactive ingredients include Chlorothymol, Calamine, Glycerine, Phenol, Lanolin, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Thymol.

Menthol is an external analgesic and first-aid antiseptic. Whereas, Zinc Oxide is a moisture barrier acting as a skin protectant. Calmoseptine ointment is indicated for healing and protection against minor burns, scraps, cuts, diaper rash, wound drainage and other skin irritations.

The ointment serves as a multipurpose moisture barrier. It is also effective against skin irritations caused by fistula drainage, perspiration, diarrhoea, feeding tube side leakage, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and minor bug bites. To apply, gently cleanse the skin with a mild skin cleanser and allow it to air dry. Apply a thin layer of ointment to the irritated skin site. Use 2-4 times daily.
