MEDIHONEY® Wound Gel combines 80% active Leptospermum honey with 20% natural gelling agents to create a viscous, stable formulation for effective wound management. Designed for use under the guidance of healthcare professionals, this gel maintains a moist wound environment conducive to healing. Its formulation is suitable for non-draining to moderately exuding wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous and arterial leg ulcers, pressure sores, first and second-degree partial thickness burns, donor sites, and traumatic or surgical wounds.

The high osmolarity of the honey gel supports gentle cleansing and debridement at the wound site, helping to remove necrotic tissue and reduce bacterial contamination. The gel also lowers the wound pH, promoting an optimal environment for tissue repair and regeneration. Its increased viscosity ensures stability and adherence to the wound, maintaining consistent contact and effectiveness throughout treatment.

Packaged in a convenient 1.5 oz tube, the gel is intended for single-patient use to ensure sterility and reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
