Violet Coated VICRYL™ 0 CT 27" Suture is a synthetic, absorbable braided suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. It is coated with a polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate mixture to enhance smooth tissue passage and improve handling properties. The violet color improves suture visibility during surgical procedures, aiding precise placement and knotting.

The braided configuration ensures ease of knot tying with high initial knot security, particularly effective from the first throw. Its pliability and tensile strength contribute to controlled handling, making it suitable for ligatures and general soft tissue approximation. The CT needle type is optimized for efficient penetration in medium to dense tissues.

VICRYL™ sutures are widely used in procedures involving general tissue repair, gynecology, urology, and ophthalmology. However, they are not intended for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues. Their predictable absorption, strength retention, and handling characteristics make them a standard option for internal absorbable closure.
