Ravulizumab is a complement inhibitor that specifically binds to the terminal complement protein C5, preventing its cleavage into C5a and C5b. This inhibition blocks the formation of the membrane attack complex (MAC), reducing intravascular hemolysis and subsequent complications associated with uncontrolled complement activation.
The solution is clear to slightly opalescent and colorless to slightly yellow. It is supplied in a 3mL single-dose vial containing 300 mg of ravulizumab, intended for dilution and intravenous infusion by a healthcare professional.
