Taper Point PDS II Absorbable Suture, 1/2 Circle, 48 mm, Size 1, Violet, 1" x 36" CTX, is a sterile surgical suture designed for soft tissue approximation and ligation. Constructed from polydioxanone, this monofilament suture offers prolonged strength retention, providing sustained wound support during the healing process. 

The suture features a 1/2 circle taper point needle made from stainless steel. This needle design facilitates smooth passage through tissues by gently separating fibers rather than cutting, which minimizes trauma and reduces inflammatory response. The needle length of 48 mm allows for controlled maneuverability in various surgical sites, ensuring optimal wound closure.

Strength retention is maintained at approximately 80% after two weeks, 70% at four weeks, and 60% at six weeks, supporting tissue healing over extended periods. Complete absorption of the suture occurs between 183 and 238 days, providing long-term wound support with gradual suture degradation through hydrolysis.
