ETHILON™ Monofilament Suture, Black, Size 1-0, 60", TP-1 Needle is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of polyamide polymer chains. This monofilament construction ensures smooth passage through tissue and minimal tissue drag. The uniform diameter and flexibility of the suture provide dependable knot security and handling characteristics during surgical procedures.

The suture is dyed black to improve visibility in the operative field, particularly in low-contrast anatomical areas. It elicits minimal acute tissue inflammatory response and maintains long-term tensile strength in vivo. The polymer’s chemical stability allows it to resist enzymatic degradation, with eventual encapsulation and hydrolytic degradation occurring over one to two years, if at all.

ETHILON™ suture is intended for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures. Its slow degradation profile, monofilament structure, and visibility make it suitable for applications where extended tensile support is desired without tissue encapsulation.
