Description

Coated VICRYL™ Absorbable Suture, Violet, Size 0, 36", with a CP-1 Needle, is a synthetic sterile braided suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. This formulation results in a strong yet pliable suture that supports wound closure during the early critical healing phase.

The suture is coated with a polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate mixture, which enhances smooth tissue passage and minimizes tissue drag. The violet coloration improves visibility during placement, particularly in low-contrast surgical environments. The coating also contributes to consistent knot security and reduced friction during manipulation.

The CP-1 needle is a large, 1/2 circle taper point needle designed for general soft tissue closure. It enables atraumatic passage through tissue and is ideal for procedures such as fascia closure, general surgery, gynecologic procedures, and subcutaneous tissue approximation. The suture's reliability and performance make it a widely used option in absorbable wound closure.
