Description
The Violet Coated VICRYL™ Suture, 2-0, SH Needle, 27" Length, is a synthetic absorbable braided suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. It is coated with a polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate mixture to enhance handling properties. The violet color provides visibility during placement and facilitates accurate tissue approximation.
This suture is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including ophthalmic procedures. It is not intended for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues. Common applications include muscle and fascial closures, subcutaneous suturing, ligatures, reproductive tract procedures, and as a secondary option in orthopedic surgeries.
