Description

Undyed Coated VICRYL™ Suture, Size 3-0, 27", SH-1 Needle, is a sterile, absorbable, braided surgical suture composed of polyglactin 910, a copolymer of glycolide and L-lactide. It is designed for soft tissue approximation and ligation where absorbable sutures are indicated, particularly in ophthalmic, gynecologic, and general surgical procedures.

The suture is coated to improve handling characteristics, reduce tissue drag, and facilitate secure knot tying. It offers excellent knot security with consistent knot strength achieved from the first throw. The undyed variant is preferred in applications where reduced suture visibility is desirable, such as in cosmetic or ophthalmic closures.

Common applications include closure of soft tissues such as muscle layers, subcutaneous tissue, the reproductive tract, and in ophthalmic surgeries. It is not recommended for cardiovascular or neurological procedures due to its absorbable nature and relatively short tensile retention period.
