Description

Coated VICRYL™ Suture, Violet, Size 3-0, 18", CT-1 Taper Point Needle is a synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. This braided multifilament is coated with a mixture of polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate to improve handling properties and knot security.

This configuration includes a CT-1 taper point needle, which is 1/2 circle in shape and designed for soft tissue penetration with minimal trauma. The needle is attached to an 18-inch suture strand, providing adequate length for short to medium-length closures in general soft tissue procedures.

VICRYL™ maintains approximately 75% of its tensile strength at 2 weeks and around 50% at 3 weeks post-implantation. Complete absorption occurs through hydrolysis within 56 to 70 days. The predictable absorption profile allows sufficient time for tissue healing without requiring suture removal.
