Description

Suture, Vicryl, 0, 54, Undyed, Ties, 135 cm is a synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. The braided structure enhances flexibility and provides improved knot security, making it suitable for internal tissue ligation. The undyed formulation ensures minimal tissue coloration, which is especially important in areas requiring clear visibility during surgical intervention.

The suture is coated with a polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate mixture to enhance ease of handling and facilitate smooth passage through tissue. Its construction offers consistent tensile strength, retaining approximately 50% of its strength at two to three weeks post-implantation. 

This suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including procedures involving the gastrointestinal tract, urological repairs, and gynecologic closures. It is not recommended for use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, or neural tissue applications. Its configuration as ties provides fast and efficient ligation during procedures requiring rapid suture application.
