Description

The Suture, Pliabilized, Mono, Black, Size 4-0, 18", PC-5 Needle is a nonabsorbable monofilament surgical suture manufactured from long-chain aliphatic polyamides. This suture is commonly known as ETHILON™, designed for general soft tissue approximation and ligation in various surgical fields where permanent tensile strength is required.

Its black dye enhances visibility during surgery, allowing precise placement and better control. The monofilament construction minimizes tissue drag and supports smooth passage through delicate structures. As a synthetic nonabsorbable material, it induces only minimal acute inflammatory tissue response and is gradually encapsulated by fibrous connective tissue.

The attached PC-5 needle is a conventional cutting needle with a 3/8 circle curvature, suitable for skin and soft tissue closures. It offers strength, sharpness, and controlled penetration, especially useful in dermal and subcuticular suturing. The 18-inch suture length and 4-0 size make it versatile for medium-fine closures.
