Description

PERMA-HAND™ Suture, Black, Size 2-0, 5 × 18", with SH needle, is a nonabsorbable sterile surgical suture composed of natural silk, an organic protein derived from the domesticated Bombyx mori silkworm. The suture is braided to enhance pliability, knot security, and handling properties. It is coated with a special wax mixture to reduce capillarity and improve smooth passage through tissue.

This suture is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including use in ophthalmic and cardiovascular procedures, but is not suitable for use in central nervous system tissues. The 2-0 size offers reliable tensile strength for medium-tissue closures such as fascia, peritoneum, or subcutaneous tissue. The black color improves visibility during placement.

The SH needle is a taper point needle with a 1/2 circle curvature, made of stainless steel. It is designed for penetration of soft, delicate tissues without cutting, making it appropriate for bowel, peritoneum, and vascular anastomosis. The 5 × 18" strand configuration supports multiple uses in a single procedure, especially where multiple sutures are required.
