MONOCRYL™ Monofilament Suture, Violet, 27 Inch, Size 2-0 is a synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of poliglecaprone 25, a copolymer of glycolide and e-caprolactone. It is designed as a monofilament strand, offering a smooth surface that reduces tissue drag, minimizes trauma, and facilitates easy passage through tissue layers. The violet pigmentation enhances intraoperative visibility, aiding precision in placement.

The suture is characterized by minimal tissue reactivity, making it preferable over traditional chromic gut sutures in procedures requiring low inflammatory response. Its monofilament structure prevents fraying and reduces the risk of bacterial migration, ensuring clean wound margins and promoting effective healing outcomes.

This suture is frequently used in urologic, gynecologic, gastrointestinal, and subcuticular skin closures.
