Description

Suture, Ethilon, Mono, Black, 4/0, 30, FSL is a sterile, synthetic, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of long-chain aliphatic polymers (nylon). It is a monofilament suture, providing minimal tissue drag and high tensile strength. The black coloration ensures enhanced visibility in the surgical field, allowing for precise placement during closure procedures.

This suture is supplied with an FSL needle, a 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle constructed from stainless steel. The needle design allows efficient penetration through dense or tough tissues such as skin, minimizing trauma and ensuring controlled suture passage. Its strong and sharp configuration supports accurate and secure wound closure.

Ethilon sutures provoke minimal acute inflammatory response and maintain tensile strength for extended periods. They may gradually lose tensile integrity over one to two years due to slow encapsulation and hydrolytic degradation. Their physical properties remain stable during long-term implantation, making them suitable for external wound closure when prolonged tissue support is necessary.
