Coated VICRYL™ Plus Antibacterial Suture, Size 1, 18", undyed and braided, is an absorbable surgical suture composed of Polyglactin 910, a copolymer of glycolide and lactide. The suture is coated with a combination of Polyglactin 370, calcium stearate, and triclosan. Triclosan imparts antibacterial properties effective against common pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and MRSE, contributing to the reduction of surgical site infection risk.

The undyed braided suture is engineered to deliver excellent handling, knot security, and flexibility. The high-adhesion coating minimizes tissue drag, ensuring smoother tissue passage during wound closure. The suture’s design supports use in multiple surgical specialties where absorbable material is indicated, especially in soft tissue approximation and ligation.

The OS-8 needle is a 1/2 circle reverse cutting needle with a length of 40 mm, designed for tough or fibrous tissues. Each pack contains three strands, each 18 inches long, facilitating controlled and efficient wound closure during operative procedures.
