Description

SURGIFOAM® PW 6X1GM is a sterile, absorbable hemostatic agent in powder form designed to aid in the control of bleeding during surgical procedures. Composed of sterile gelatin derived from porcine sources, the powder is saturated with sterile sodium chloride solution and provides rapid hemostasis when conventional methods such as ligature or pressure are inadequate or impractical.

The product is indicated for use in a wide range of surgical settings, excluding ophthalmic procedures. It is particularly effective in managing capillary, venous, and small arteriolar bleeding. Upon application, the powder conforms to irregular wound surfaces and assists in the formation of a stable clot by creating a mechanical matrix that supports the body's natural coagulation cascade.

SURGIFOAM® Powder may be applied directly to the bleeding surface and, although effective on its own, can also be used in conjunction with topical thrombin to enhance its hemostatic effect. This dual-action option provides surgeons with added flexibility when dealing with more persistent bleeding scenarios.
