Covidien Dermacea X-Ray Detectable Gauze Sponges are designed for use with surgical applications so the sponge may be easily located if lost. Constructed from USP Type VII gauze, Dermacea Sponges incorporate a unique dual-colored element which combines a blue radiopaque strand with a white strand that is visible when saturated with blood. Each element is latex-free and runs through both sides of the sponge for easy counting. Covidien Dermacea Sponges are manufactured with a special double vacuum delinting process to assure minimal lint.
