The Sofsilk™ Wax-Coated Braided Silk Suture, 3-0, 5x18, CV-23 D-Tach™ is a non-absorbable surgical suture designed for effective tissue approximation and ligation. This sterile suture is composed of braided silk fibers derived from the Bombyx mori silkworm, ensuring reliable tensile strength and flexibility during surgical procedures. The fibers are treated to remove sericin gum, improving biocompatibility and reducing tissue reactivity.

This suture features a wax coating, enhancing smooth passage through tissues while minimizing friction and tissue trauma. The wax coating also helps maintain the suture’s integrity during knot tying, ensuring secure ligation. Available in black for enhanced visibility in the surgical field, it is packaged in strands of 18 inches (45 cm) and comes in five strands per unit for convenience.

The Sofsilk™ suture is equipped with a CV-23 taper point needle, ideal for atraumatic tissue penetration. The D-Tach™ needle attachment system allows easy detachment from the suture for precise handling. This product is supplied in a box of 24 to meet surgical demands in various healthcare settings.
