Sodium Chloride 0.9%, 1000 mL Bag is a sterile, nonpyrogenic intravenous solution designed for fluid and electrolyte replenishment. The solution is formulated to provide a balanced source of water and electrolytes for patients who require hydration or electrolyte correction. This product is supplied in a 1000 mL VIAFLEX plastic container, ensuring secure and efficient administration while maintaining the sterility of the solution.

Containing 9 g of Sodium Chloride (NaCl) per liter, the 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection has an osmolarity of 308 mOsmol/L. This isotonic solution is commonly used in clinical settings to restore fluid balance and to correct sodium imbalances. The pH of the solution is 5.0, within the acceptable range of 4.5 to 7.0, making it compatible with body fluids.

The solution contains no antimicrobial agents, ensuring it is safe for use in a variety of medical applications without the added risk of preservatives. Its formulation provides a straightforward method for maintaining electrolyte homeostasis and hydration in patients.

The VIAFLEX plastic container is made from a specially formulated polyvinyl chloride (PL 146 Plastic). While the solution is in contact with the plastic, trace amounts of chemical components such as di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) may leach into the solution within the expiration period, though at very low levels (up to 5 parts per million).
