Scopolamine 1 mg/3 Day Patch is a transdermal therapeutic system designed to deliver scopolamine continuously over a 72-hour period. The patch contains 1 mg of scopolamine, a belladonna alkaloid that acts as an anticholinergic agent, effectively inhibiting the effects of acetylcholine on muscarinic receptors. This action helps in the prevention of nausea and vomiting caused by motion sickness, as well as postoperative nausea.

The patch is applied behind the ear on a clean, dry area of skin. The patch is commonly used by patients who are susceptible to motion sickness during travel or by individuals undergoing surgical procedures where postoperative nausea is a concern.

Side effects of the scopolamine patch may include dry mouth, drowsiness, blurred vision, dizziness, and, in rare cases, confusion or difficulty urinating. Due to its anticholinergic properties, the patch may also cause dilated pupils or sensitivity to light.
