Description
RhoGAM UF Plus PFS is a sterile, prefilled syringe containing 300 mcg (1500 IU) of Rho(D) Immune Globulin (Human), designed for use in preventing Rh sensitization in Rh-negative pregnant women. This product is indicated for administration during pregnancy at or beyond 13 weeks of gestation to protect against the potential for Rh incompatibility. RhoGAM works by preventing the mother’s immune system from producing antibodies against Rh-positive red blood cells that may be present in the fetus.
The 300 mcg dose is effective for standard indications associated with pregnancy, such as following delivery of an Rh-positive baby, or during other events that may expose the mother to Rh-positive fetal blood cells. In cases where clinical or laboratory evidence suggests fetal-maternal hemorrhage (FMH) exceeding 15 mL of Rh-positive red blood cells, additional doses of RhoGAM may be required.
RhoGAM UF Plus PFS is thimerosal-free, catering to patients who may have sensitivities to preservatives. The product is designed for easy administration with a prefilled syringe, reducing the need for additional preparation. It is important to store the product refrigerated between 2 to 8 degrees Celsius (36 to 46 degrees Fahrenheit) to maintain its stability and effectiveness.
