The PDS Plus™ Monofilament Suture, PS2, Clear, Size 4-0, 18" is an absorbable antibacterial suture designed for optimal wound closure and infection control. It incorporates Irgacare MP, an antibacterial agent that effectively kills bacteria and inhibits bacterial colonization at the surgical site. This property helps reduce the risk of postoperative infections and supports safer healing in both routine and high-risk procedures.

The suture provides extended wound support, maintaining 60% of its original tensile strength at 2 weeks, 40% at 4 weeks, and 35% at 6 weeks. Complete absorption occurs within 183 to 238 days, ensuring that the material is fully resorbed while allowing sufficient time for tissue healing. Its monofilament structure enhances pliability, reduces tissue drag, and facilitates smooth passage through tissues.

Equipped with a precision reverse cutting PS-2 needle, the suture offers ease of handling and accurate tissue penetration. The 3/8-circle stainless steel needle, 19 mm in length, is ideal for various soft tissue closures, providing precise control during suturing. The suture is undyed and uncoated, offering excellent visibility in the surgical field while remaining flexible and strong.
