Description
Nyvepria 6 mg/0.6 mL prefilled syringe is a long-acting granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) used to reduce the incidence of infection in patients receiving myelosuppressive chemotherapy. It contains pegfilgrastim-apgf, a biosimilar to pegfilgrastim, which stimulates the bone marrow to produce neutrophils, enhancing the body's defense against infection during neutropenic periods.
The formulation is administered subcutaneously, typically once per chemotherapy cycle, at least 24 hours after cytotoxic chemotherapy. The prolonged activity of pegfilgrastim-apgf is achieved through PEGylation, which slows renal clearance, allowing sustained stimulation of neutrophil production.
Nyvepria is indicated for patients with non-myeloid malignancies undergoing myelosuppressive chemotherapy associated with a clinically significant incidence of febrile neutropenia. It is not indicated for the treatment of existing neutropenia or for use in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome.
