Description

Midazolam MDV 5mg/mL 2mL C4 is a sterile injectable formulation of midazolam, a potent benzodiazepine used for its sedative, anxiolytic, amnestic, and muscle-relaxant properties. This product is the generic equivalent of Versed® and is supplied in a flip-top vial for ease of use in clinical settings. The active ingredient, midazolam hydrochloride, acts by enhancing the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter, to produce central nervous system depression.

This medication is indicated for preoperative sedation, procedural sedation, induction of anesthesia, and sedation in mechanically ventilated patients in intensive care units. It has a rapid onset of action, typically within 1-5 minutes after intravenous administration. The short duration of action, usually lasting 1-2 hours, allows for effective sedation without prolonged effects.

The 2mL vial, containing a concentration of 5mg/mL, is designed for single or multiple uses under sterile conditions. The flip-top cap ensures secure storage and convenient access during procedures.
