The HeartStart OnSite AED Smart Pads Cartridge, Infant/Child is a pediatric defibrillation accessory designed for use with the Philips HeartStart OnSite Automated External Defibrillator (AED). It is intended for infants and children who are 8 years of age or younger or weigh less than 55 pounds (25 kg). The cartridge enables the AED to deliver therapy appropriate for pediatric patients during sudden cardiac arrest emergencies.
When the Infant/Child SMART Pads Cartridge is connected to the HeartStart OnSite AED, the device automatically recognizes the pediatric accessory and adjusts its operation for child rescue. The AED modifies its voice prompts to provide age-appropriate guidance and automatically reduces the defibrillation energy from 150 joules to 50 joules.
The adhesive electrode pads are designed to maintain reliable skin contact for accurate rhythm analysis and effective energy delivery. Clear placement illustrations on the pads assist in proper positioning on the patient's chest, helping to optimize performance during emergency response.
