Description
Gammagard Liquid 10% is an intravenous immune globulin (IVIG) solution containing 10% immunoglobulin G (IgG) derived from pooled human plasma. It is used for primary immunodeficiency (PI) syndromes, including common variable immunodeficiency (CVID), X-linked agammaglobulinemia, and other disorders characterized by antibody deficiencies.
Gammagard Liquid is indicated for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), a neurological disorder characterized by progressive muscle weakness and impaired nerve function. It exerts immunomodulatory effects by altering inflammatory cytokine production, inhibiting pathogenic autoantibodies, and suppressing complement activation.
Gammagard Liquid is supplied as a preservative-free, single-dose vial containing 10% IgG in a 300 mL solution. It is stabilized with glycine and does not contain sucrose, minimizing the risk of renal complications. The formulation is free from IgA, reducing the likelihood of hypersensitivity reactions in IgA-deficient patients.
