Description
Epinephrine 30 mg multidose vial (MDV) 30 mL is a sympathomimetic agent that acts on both alpha and beta-adrenergic receptors. It is used in the management of anaphylaxis, severe asthma exacerbations, cardiac arrest, and as a vasopressor in hypotensive states. By stimulating alpha receptors, epinephrine induces vasoconstriction, increasing blood pressure and reducing mucosal edema. Beta-adrenergic activation leads to bronchodilation, increased cardiac output, and improved myocardial oxygen supply.
Each milliliter contains 1 mg of epinephrine in a 1:1,000 concentration, formulated for intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intravenous administration depending on clinical indications. The onset of action varies based on the route, with intramuscular effects appearing within minutes and intravenous administration producing an almost immediate response.
