Coated VICRYL® Plus Antibacterial Sutures are synthetic, absorbable sutures made from Polyglactin 910 and treated with triclosan to provide antibacterial protection. The sutures are braided for optimal knot security and handling, and coated to enhance smooth tissue passage. The undyed version is ideal for procedures where minimal suture visibility is preferred.

The reverse cutting needle features a sharp, triangular tip designed to easily penetrate dense, fibrous tissues, commonly used in skin and mucosal closures. The needle and suture combination allows for precision and strength in surgical wound closure, especially in high-tension areas.

The antibacterial coating has been proven in vitro to inhibit the colonization of pathogens commonly associated with surgical site infections, including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and MRSE. This helps support infection prevention efforts without altering wound healing performance.
