Description

Briumvi, 25 mg/mL (150 mg), is a monoclonal antibody formulation presented in a single-dose, preservative-free vial containing 6 mL of solution. It is indicated for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS), including clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting disease, and active secondary progressive disease. The active ingredient, ublituximab-xiiy, targets the CD20 antigen expressed on the surface of pre-B and mature B lymphocytes.

Briumvi acts by binding to the CD20 antigen and initiating antibody-dependent cellular cytolysis and complement-dependent cytolysis, thereby reducing B-cell populations involved in the autoimmune response characteristic of MS. This mechanism contributes to the modulation of disease activity and the reduction of relapse frequency and lesion formation.

Storage of Briumvi requires refrigeration at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) and protection from light. It must not be frozen or shaken. The vial is for single use only, and any unused portion should be discarded. Clinical settings must ensure appropriate monitoring during and after administration to manage potential infusion reactions.
